At Restaurant Levi, we aim to create simple and irresistible dishes. Here you can let yourself be seduced by the dishes and linger in the pleasure of surprise when Italian and Japanese food culture come together. Every time we (re)visit the honest and simple Italian cuisine, we are overwhelmed by how little it takes to create an irresistible taste. At the same time, we are captivated by the elegance and constant balancing on a knife edge that we find in Japanese cuisine. We are delighted by the exotic ingredients and the many unexpected flavours. When our chefs pull the apron strings, they are forced to experiment in the meeting of the two approaches. Thus, the weekly menu at Restaurant Levi is the result of a constant search and curiosity that characterises our cuisine.
EFFERVESCENT WINE AND DELIGHTFUL DROPS
It has always been a dream of ours to create a place that oozes love for Italian food and especially wine. Restaurant Levi is just that. We have filled the wine cellar with crisp whites, sparkling bubbles and deep reds – mainly from Italy, but producers from many other countries have also found their way. We know most of the wines and don’t expect you to. At Levi’s, we make an effort to listen to your preferences and choose just what makes your encounter with the glass special, without demanding your wine knowledge.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF RESTAURANT LEVI
We are captivated by the artistic grappa master. Romano Levi, and we named the restaurant after him. Romano Levi managed to create his own universe, where both the product and the packaging were completely unique. That’s what we strive for with Levi. We want to create something pure and personal – a restaurant and a kitchen that doesn’t hide behind anything.
Romano Levi was particularly known for his hand-drawn etchings, in which he sketched wild women running across meadows and vineyards. We can’t take credit for the drawings, so instead we’ve teamed up with artists to contribute to the artistic expression of Restaurant Levi, inspired by Romano Levi’s style and expression.
At Restaurant Levi, we want to create a universe in his spirit. We will pay homage to his genius and strive for some of the same virtues of purity, craftsmanship and thoroughness.
AN AESTHETIC GEM IN THE INNER CITY
We knew from our first meeting with the empty, newly built premises in Copenhagen’s inner city that we wanted to create a sensuous design universe. The space had to be palpable – giving the feeling of stepping into a vibrant and joyful chaos where all the senses come into play. At Restaurant Levi, the magic happens when subtle design meets a gastronomic fusion that surprises. Johannes (Partner and owner of the international design studio, Johannes Torpe Studios, behind the interior, ed.) advocates an experimental approach to design.
Every dimension has been thought about and we have created a combination of art deco and Italian vintage that is unlike any other. We want it to be a holistic experience, with a lively bar and an informal atmosphere – just like in Italy. Now we have the right location, the right team and a shared dream to create something completely new in Copenhagen.
